This is my third stay at the Waterfront and this time we treated ourselves to a junior suite, Room , a little expensive but well worth the extra. Two balconies a huge room with a large bathroom including a walk in shower, coffee machine, fridge and dressing gowns you get lost in! The view is to die for, watching the sun rise over the harbour is sensational. Alex at reception could not have been more friendly or helpful ensuring everything about our stay was perfect.

We only had breakfast in the hotel which was all you could ask for. We eat out every night as there are so many places to choose close by along the waterfront!
The location of the hotel is right on the waters edge close to the ferry, pleasure boats and the shops yet is just far enough away from Sliema centre to be quiet. Would recommend this hotel every time and we will be staying again …. Date of stay: November Value. Room Tip: Sea view on a high floor.

Not a four star hotel. The room was poorly equipped, drawers were non existent and the wardrobe had a weird hanging rail , which was impossible to work.
The room was a disabled room, we presume someone has to use them but as able bodied people we found it a most inconvenient set up. The position of the hotel is about the only plus Date of stay: October Trip type: Travelled as a couple. Got a very small double room with an extra bed crammed next to the double bed. The extra bed was rank and unsteady. Not bedded and missing real pillows on arrival. Was hard to sleep in that bed. Although we had paid for three people, the hotel room was only equipped for two people, two coffee mugs, two glasses, two balcony chairs, etcetera.
The curtains had come loose from the roof bracket so the sun was shining early in the morning.
And yes, we told the reception about this. But was not fixed. Very small balcony that could not accommodate more than two people. Although we emailed the hotel in advance and requested room with good balcony. The hotel elevators are a nightmare. Getting a lift from floor 3 to the entrance floor can take 10 minutes, as the lift goes up and down and stops on all floors where other hotel guests have pressed the elevator button.
The stairwell is locked so you can't go down or up the stairs. That is bad!
There are more hotel guests than there are tables and seating. During high season and weekend there is a queue and wait until you get somewhere to have breakfast. The coffee in the vending machines is really bad. Hot water with coffee syrup. Same with the orange juice dispenser. You get more water than orange. Reception and bar on the entrance floor. The bar refuses credit cards if you order just coffee. The front desk requires a deposit 10 euro if you want to borrow a bath towel for the hotel's swimming pool.
It seems that hotel guests are not trusted to borrow bath towels. The only nice person at the front desk was Alex, well I remember his name just because he was nice and serviceminded. Day before check out the hotel staff left a paper message in the rooms, saying "We take much pride in offering our guests a unique journey of Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm and Cuisine and providing our guests with long lasting memories.
The hotel confirmed that it would be available at check-out. But it was missing when we checked out.
The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that they have a penthouse floor with an indoor swimming pool and roof relax terrace with nice sea view. It was actually the best thing about the hotel. Date of stay: October Cleanliness. Sleep Quality. Dear Mr Mikael F, Many thanks for your review and constructive feedback. A friend recommended The Waterfront Hotel and we were generally pleased with it. We were aware that some refurbishment was under way, but the only problem it gave us was that one of the two lifts serving our room was closed off so there were some small delays waiting for the remaining lift. Our sea-view room on the 9th floor had a wonderful view. It was reasonably large with a small balcony. Side sea-view rooms and Sea-view rooms are also available at a supplement.
The Basilico - another Restaurant within the Hotel and it offers an a la carte menu, serving Salads, Pasta, Pizza, Grills and deserts with a Mediterranean influence within a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
